Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Portland, OR, by real estate investor and former Ambassador Gordon Sondland, Provenance has evolved into a highly successful owner and operator of boutique hotels.  

Since its founding, Provenance has owned and managed over 35 hotels in the United States, including award-winning boutique properties Sentinel in Portland and Hotel Theodore in Seattle. 

Today, Provenance operates nine independent boutique hotels across five cities, including the boutique vision in Fort Wayne, IN – The Bradley. Provenance is also an investor in the Paramount Hotel in Seattle and Benson Hotel in Portland, and an approved manager for Starwood and Marriott. 

Our streamlined organizational structure, retention of top talent, and nimble nature allows us to capitalize on market demands, seize opportunities and excel in development, investments, acquisitions, and asset management*.
